John C. Bogle, the founder and former chairman and chief executive of the Vanguard Group, wrote an op-ed in the New York Times regarding NorthStar’s proposal at Home Depot this year. As you will read, Mr. Bogle noted that “the Supreme Court itself put the onus on shareholders to control corporate political giving,” supporting NorthStar’s pursuit of allowing shareholders a say on political contributions of corporations.
